Saturday, June 2000 2 - Matello wines - 2-4PM @ Hawthorne
Stop in an sample some of the latest releases from one of our favorite Oregon producers, Matello. Matello’s goal is to try to think outside the box of modern winemaking by exploring the methods of tradition, by renewing focus on the most basic aspects of winemaking: grapes, farming, fermentation, and patience. All Matello wines are produced from small family owned and operated vineyards and from non-irrigated vines.Taste the newly released Matello Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris (and maybe something pink) and meet the folks from the winery.
Sunday, June 3 -Molly Moon’s Ice Cream - 3-5PM @ Hawthorne
Seattle, like Portland, is undergoing its own ice cream renaissance. At the forefront is Molly Moon’s Ice Cream, now with four locations throughout the Emerald City. Owner and founder Molly Moon Neitzel will talk about her shops, her inspirations, her new ice cream book, and best of all for you, sample come of her creations. Signed copies of Molly Moon’s Homemade Ice Cream cookbook — a collection of sweet, seasonal recipes for ice creams, sorbets and toppings made with local ingredients—will be available for sale from Powell’s. Molly’s visit is sponsored by Powell’s and hosted by Pastaworks.
Saturday, June 9 - Domenico Valentino Imports pours Lini Lambruschi & Oregon Olive Mill Olive Oil - 3-5 PM @ City Market
Meet Jim Hutchinson from Domenico Valentino Imports and taste the frizzy, spritzy, smile enhancing as well as palate pleasing Lambruschi from Emilia Romagna’s Lini 910. The Oregon Olive Mill at Red Ridge was founded in 2004 by the Durant family, longtime farmers and pioneers in the Oregon wine industry. Oregon Olive Mill Extra Virgin Olive Oil is produced from Spain’s primary oil producing olive, the Arbequina. Stop in and sample the latest harvest.

Saturday, June 16-Hot Dogs and Tea for dear olde dad-3-5 PM @ Mississippi
Elias Cairo and the Olympic Provisions crew carefully craft “ American Charcuterie “ using the highest quality ingredients, all made in beautiful Portland, Oregon. For dear olde dad, or anyone who stops in the Mississippi store, OP will sample their famous Hot Dogs and and some of their sumptuous salami. Joining OP for the day , The Tao of Tea will sample a new selection of hot and cold teas.
Saturday, June 16 - Frothy red wines, Carlton Cyderworks, Mr. Brown’s Barbecue Sauces & Jacobson Salt 2-4 PM @ Hawthorne
Frothy red wines? Never had them? Never heard of them? Then you need to come try them because they’re delicious! For no special occasion other than we just love this stuff, we’ve decided to open up some of these unique and delicious wines. Sparkling Bonarda from the Oltrepo Pavese, Lambrusco from Emilia Romagna, Sparkling Cabernet Franc from the Veneto, and Birbet from Piedmont. May sound like a bunch of mumbo jumbo, but when you learn how fun these wines are to drink you’ll be hooked! Sip the latest bottlings of what was once the country’s preferred alcoholic beverage, hard cider. Carlton Cyderworks employs traditional methods and locally sourced fruits to produce their array of enticing ciders. You’ll get to sample Stumptown Cider, Citizen Cider and Duke Apple-Blueberry Cider. Mr. Brown’s family has been making Barbeque sauce for four Generations. It all began in his family home in 1953. Stop by and meet the Famous Fred Brown and enjoy some of his BBQ magic, along with a slice or two of Pastaworks’ House Made sausages. Local salt producer Ben Jacobson is harvesting pure salt crystals straight from Oregon’s cold waters and creating fantastic quality salt right here in River City.

Strolling the avenue on Dad’s day? Stop in and meet the folks from Coalition Brewery and sample some of their latest beers.
