The Oregon Farmers’ Market Association (OFMA) will host the 13th annual meeting of member farmers’ markets on Friday, February 24 in Corvallis, Oregon at the Westside Community Church. At that time, the organization will also elect a board of directors for 2012.

The OFMA annual meeting brings together market managers, community volunteers, state officials, farmers and artisan producers from more than 110 member farmers’ markets across the state for a day of participant-directed roundtables, resource sharing & networking. The meeting is an opportunity to celebrate the successes of 2011, and to find out what is on the horizon that will impact farm direct marketing in 2012. The meeting will run from 9:00am – 4:00pm and a catered lunch will be provided.

OFMA is actively seeking new board members to join the organization’s governing body of 15 representatives from across the state. Board members engage in policy development, public advocacy, education and publicity to build support for Oregon farmers’ markets, family farms, small food producers, processors and artisans. Of particular interest are nominees with financial, political and legal expertise, non-profit organizational development experience, fund-raising skills, web development knowledge, and marketing know-how. Individuals who are actively farming and representatives from Oregon’s rural communities are highly encouraged to apply.

Details about the board nomination process and annual meeting registration can be found at www.oregonfarmersmarkets.org.
