New GM @The Original Dinerant
Troy Christian comes back to PDX
The Original Dinerant in Portland, OR says farewell to Meaghan Goedde, The Original’s General Manager since opening in 2009, they welcome new GM Troy Christian aboard. Christian is not a newcomer to Bridgetown, or restaurant and hospitality management – he has worked in, managed and owned several restaurants across the country in his 20 plus year career, including stints at Portland landmarks such as Pazzo Ristorante.
With an entrepreneurial spirit and passion for hospitality, Troy is excited to be back in Portland

. While the restaurant scene has changed and grown significantly since Troy departed the city in 2002, the founding values of local, sustainable and farm to table have remained intact. The Original’s commitment to high quality ingredients from local farms, elevated in classic American dishes with a touch of nostalgia, are right in line with Troy’s style.
Troy moved from San Diego to Portland in 1996 to open the Alameda Brewhouse on NE Fremont and then joined Kimpton Hotel and Restaurant Group to help manage Pazzo Ristorante. After building a strong management foundation in PDX, Troy worked on several projects including El Gaucho, Asado, and Masa and then joined an old Pazzo colleague in Sacramento to work with Grange Restaurant and Barin the Citizen Hotel, a farm to table focused establishment.
After three plus years in Sacramento and immersing himself in the local farm and sustainability movements, the pull to be back in the Northwest kept growing. When an opportunity to join Sage Restaurant Group presented itself, the choice was clear. Troy packed his bags and moved to Portland to take on a new position as General Manager of The Original Dinerant in downtown PDX.
Troy brings a passion for all things local, a keen entrepreneurial spirit, and many years of management and ownership experience in a variety of markets to the vibrant culinary landscape in Portland.
