Patrick Watson Coming to Portland

America, brace yourself! Patrick Watson kicks off a US headlining tour in support of their new album, Adventures In Your Own Backyard (released on May 1 via Domino Records). Following performances and interviews earlier this month on WNYC's "Soundcheck," NPR Music (watch the Tiny Desk Concert, which was just posted today), and CBC Music, Patrick and his band continue an engrossing run with stops at WBEZ's "Afternoon Shift" and KCMP's "The Current." At a packed show in Toronto two nights ago, the band practically set Danforth Music Hall ablaze causing a fire alarm to ring during the encore. The crowd, loath to miss a second, ignored the alarm and watched the duration of the encore. It is Patrick Watson's spirited live show that has earned them high praise from NPR Music, support slots this summer for Andrew Bird and Keane, and a performance at Austin City Limits Festival in October. In addition to the previously announced dates, Patrick Watson is announcing more shows, including another run with Andrew Bird. They plan to be on the road the remainder of 2012.
