Dana Falconberry Returns to PDX
Just Before an Album Release
In advance of the release of Leelanau, Austin's Dana Falconberry and her wonderful band are hitting the open road this month! The new album (out October 9th on Antenna Farm Records) is an ode to rural Michigan with references to stories both real and imagined, a travelogue of both places on the map and of complex emotions stirred by memory. Themes of regret and estrangement are balanced by expressions of youthful joy an 188e d discovery, with many songs using real locales as starting points and interweaving the human experience with the world surrounding it.
Live, Falconberry and her band weave an ornate sound that's certainly based in folk music but is so much grander than that. The vocal harmonies, the orchestral arrangements and the entire mood of the band is exhilirating to see on stage!
